The Year 2009 marks the 50th anniversary of Professor Zixuan Yang's engagement in legal education.

On June 20th, the ceremony for Professor Zixuan Yang's engagement in legal education was held in Peking University. The US-China Legal Exchange Foundation (UCLEF) has sent its congratulations to Professor Yang. Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Peking University, Professor Zhipan Wu has passed the banner donated by UCLEF to Professor Zixuan Yang.

During these 50 years, Professor Yang has fully devoted himself to the education of Economic law, pouring his heart and soul to fostering the younger generation of legal experts of China. From the creation of the first specialized subject - Economic Law to the establishment of the first economic law institution in China; from the publication of the first economic law textbook to the legislative researches, drafting, as well as amendments to the Law on Industrial Enterprises Owned by the Whole People, Company Law, Partnership Enterprise Law, Economic Contract Law, Anti-Unfair Competition Law, Product Quality Law, Land Administration Law, Accounting Law and the Price Law; from the theory of State Coordination to the theory of International Coordination; upon all of these, Professor Yang has poured out a profound love and passion for studies and research on Chinese Economic Law as well as its application and education.

Professor Yang not only focuses on research and education of domestic economic law, but also actively participates in and promotes the international exchange and communication of the Chinese jurisprudence. When UCLEF was established and was inviting well-known experts and professors as its consultants both in China and in the United States, it extended a sincere invitation to Professor Yang. After some serious consideration, Professor Yang agreed to serve as a consultant of UCLEF. During his very busy working schedule, Professor Yang has given lots of his caring, attention, and selfless support for the development of UCLEF, which has greatly promoted the legal exchange and communication between China and the United States. We are deeply moved and grateful for this.

Taking this opportunity of celebration for Professor Yang's 50th anniversary of engagement in legal education, we wish Professor Yang a good health and a great academic achievement.
