UCLEF Held Visa Application Counseling Web Meeting for Chinese LawyersAdvanced Training Program in the United States

The US-China Legal Exchange Foundation (UCLEF) partners with Fordham Law School, one of the three distinguished law schools in New York - the other two are New York University School of Law and Columbia Law School - to launch the Advanced Training Program for Chinese Lawyers in the United States. The first session of the Program will be held in New York from July 12 to August 8, 2009.

In order to help each of the Chinese lawyers who will participate in such training program apply for the visa to the United States successfully, UCLEF has provided them the Guidelines on U.S. Visa Application by e-mail, and held a web meeting at 10:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time on 15 May which was 10:00 AM Beijing Time on 16 May counseling them on visa application issues.

Each lawyer who joined the web meeting was introduced the progress of the training program and illustrated the impact of the outbreak of the H1N1 Influenza on the program. The participating lawyers also shared some experience in how to make an appointment for visa application. Some questions of common concern were answered in the meeting.

The meeting was helpful for the lawyers to prepare for their visa applications more efficiently and to be able to obtain the visa more smoothly.
