UCLEF Successfully Held Chinese Financial Market and Securities Law Lecture at Columbia University Law School

On October 6, 2010, UCLEF has successfully held a lecture regarding security laws of China at Law School of Columbia University. Shen Linping, a famous lawyer of Dacheng Law Firm in China who specializes in securities law, has given a speech as the leading speaker. Mr. Shen was a visiting scholar at the University of American (Washington D.C.), and has been invited as a guest speaker to giving lectures at multiple universities in China including Peking University and People's University of China. In this lecture, based on a general introduction about the capital market in China at the beginning, Mr. Shen discussed the current hot plates of Chinese security market such as GEM (Growth Enterprise Market) of Shanghai Stock Exchange and the International Board which shall be soon promoted. He also made an in-depth analysis concerning the function of Chinese capital market and the role it shall play in the global community as the closing for the lecture.

The said lecture has been successfully held under the help of Asian Law Society of Columbia University. Many students of Columbia University has showed up at the lecture, and had a heating discussion with the speaker. Inspired by the information provided by Mr. Shen, students have expressed their intensive interests on the Chinese financial market and their will to participate in it in the future.
